24: An Insight To Jack Bauer's Violence

         Jack Bauer is a 44 year old (in the latest season) Caucasian male. His job consists of protecting America against any and all threats from terrorists. He works for the Counter Terrorism Unit (CTU) as a special agent. Prior to joining the CTU, Bauer served in the U.S. Army in the Delta Force unit earning many honors including the Purple Heart. Upon his leave from the armed forces, Bauer worked for the LAPD SWAT unit and has extensive training in search and destroy type missions.

         His philosophy is a simple one: get the job done no matter what. He is known for using unconventional, and often times, brutal methods. For example, in some of his interrogations, Bauer uses brute force in order to achieve his goal and extract any information that he needs from his victims. Such methods often force Bauer to be under intense scrutiny from his fellow agents and superiors. Furthermore, such a reputation makes him a constant target for terrorists and people who wish to bring harm to Americans. Having such a reputation also makes Bauer prone to betrayal.
